Three careers, one room
Homme, Grohl, and Jones recorded in Los Angeles after years of mutual guest spots. No audition—three established players, one album contract. Homme produced; Grohl drummed; Jones played bass and added Mellotron/keys where the arrangement needed density. Them Crooked Vultures (2009) is the only studio LP—a deliberate short run.

Self-titled album mechanics
Mind Eraser, No Chaser splits lead vocal between Homme and Grohl—no fixed frontman hierarchy. No One Loves Me & Neither Do I uses Jones keyboard stabs in the manner of Zeppelin’s No Quarter texture. Mix stays dry and midrange-forward—QOTSA desert production with Zeppelin arrangement density.

Tour and silence
The band toured Europe and the US in 2010—live sets extended album tracks with jam middle sections. No second album followed; members returned to Foo Fighters, QOTSA, and Jones’s session work. TCV remains a personnel-bridge record: Zeppelin bass player, Nirvana/Foo drummer, and desert-rock guitarist in one trio.
