The catalog moves from rough indie garage to global rock radio with the same four Followills and rising production budgets. Youth & Young Manhood (2003) and Aha Shake Heartbreak (2004) document Strokes-era rawness with Nashville/Southern rock undertow. Only by the Night (2008) is the commercial pivot: delay guitars, big-room reverb, singalong choruses. Sex on Fire’s lead riff and Caleb’s falsetto strain are the main crossover moves.
