Fallen (2003) merges Amy Lee’s classical-piano goth hooks with down-tuned guitar and arena production. Bring Me to Life’s piano-to-riff switch and guest rap verse fit rock-radio crossover formatting. My Immortal places ballad strings on the same album as chugging distortion. Fallen sold multi-platinum.

Fallen-era five-piece
1995–2003: Lee and Moody as writers; Gray, LeCompt, and Boyd as the live band for the Fallen cycle. Moody left in October 2003; Lee became the sole creative anchor through later lineup changes. The Open Door (2006) continues piano/goth metal with new guitar personnel. Lee’s vocal range and piano intros remain constant across roster changes.
